From my early obsession with VHS home videos to fleeing the 9-to-5 grind, my journey to becoming a wedding filmmaker was a wild one. I fell in love with my best friend, ditched the corporate life I had in Toronto, and moved across the country. Unemployed but inspired, I filmed a friend's wedding, discovering my love for documenting unscripted moments. Five years on, I'm a full-time wedding and elopement videographer, forever amazed that my job is capturing love and connection.
I'm Emery (she/her) and I'm a wedding and elopement filmmaker based in Calgary, Alberta, with a focus on documentary styled storytelling for every kind of love. And let me tell you, I freakin' love what I do!

Why document Love?
From OLD hollywood movies to real life love
I've always been a hopeless romantic from the get go. You'd find me any night of the week scouring the movie rental store, searching for stories that would whisk me away into a new world. I was so fascinated by the soundtracks used in movies and how certain shots and sounds could create a specific tone of the film. I've likely seen more movies than any human should, but for me, storytelling has always captivated me and I knew my purpose was to become a storyteller myself.
Love is so beautiful in all its forms, and it inspires me daily. Not only to celebrate it but also to share real stories of how two souls crossed paths and the unique connection they share. At the end of the day, love is love and I'm here to celebrate it!
Creating an inclusive and safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples is not just an aim but an honour. I wholeheartedly and without hesitation document milestones for anyone who connects with me or my work.

MY LOVE STORY
- My love and best friend, Jeremy. Not only is he my personal comedian, but he's my travel buddy and tv bingeing partner.
- Road trips with the windows rolled down and a good playlist on is my anti-depressant.
- I'd pick having a bath over a shower any day. But the bath has to be hot as heck, with tons of bubbles and epsom salts. Bonus points if you light candles!
- What's the word for foodie but instead of food, it's cocktails? That's me. A cocktail connoisseur.
- I could spend my days in thrift stores and it still wouldn't be enough! You can find pretty much anything in a thrift store except new undies!
- Living room dance parties are the best kind! If your wedding is party vibes, expect me to get down on the dance-floor with you!

WHY DOUCMENT LOVE?
In the fall of 2016, a message from an old friend, sparked a reunion after over a decade. Jeremy, a longtime friend from our small hometown of Alberta, messaged me upon learning I had moved to Toronto. He was in the city, and wondered if we could meet up.
Our rainy Monday evening turned into a night of endless conversation, continuing in a dive bar until the early morning hours.
Despite the distance, Jeremy planned another visit a few months later, leading to a weekend of museum exploring, cheap cocktails, and undeniable chemistry. As he left for the airport, I realized he was my person, and we embarked on a year of long-distance love.
Now, seven years later, we've built a life together, owned our first home, and share our life with our tiny grey cat and got to raise the sweetest dog you would've known.
